Carbon Engineering, a subsidiary of Oxy, is a Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology provider with a mission to develop technology that captures CO2 directly out of the atmosphere at megatonne scale. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Director of European Policy within our Climate Policy group, based in London, UK.
The Director of European Policy is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing and directing climate policy and carbon market initiatives within the EU and UK regions. This role involves a deep understanding of regional policies, regulations, and market dynamics related to climate and carbon mitigation.
The primary objective is to advance policy creating the business case for DAC development. You will serve as a key interface between policy makers, external stakeholders, and the business, focusing on policies within the EU, UK, and other carbon market initiatives related to DAC with geologic CO2 storage and the use of DAC CO2 in products such as fuels, such as integrating removals into compliance markets.
This role also focuses on helping EU and UK stakeholders to recognize the value in sourcing from international projects, including economic development through supply chain opportunities, cost savings, and the potential for an accelerated path to achieve regional climate targets.
