We are seeking a Benefits Analyst to join our team in Calgary.
The Benefits Analyst will provide group benefits consulting support, including design and financial management for clients and prospects. The Benefits Analyst will work closely with internal consulting teams, interface with vendors, support client deliverables, and ensure quality standards are met.
The Benefits Analyst will:
- Contribute to the overall design and management of group medical, dental, life, disability, and special risk benefits for clients.
- Gather data from various sources and analyze it to identify trends and insights.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain data models that represent business processes and provide insights into performance metrics.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by conducting regular data quality checks and implementing processes for data governance.
- Document processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the organization.
- Perform annual renewal analysis and negotiations with carriers; prepare client reports and presentations.
- Complete experience reporting, budget projections, and review plan financial performance.
- Review financial statements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting agreements.
- Gather data and determine cost impact for plan design changes.
- Conduct marketing activities, including preparing and submitting specifications, analysis, cost comparisons, and recommendations on marketing responses, and preparing marketing reports.
- Support the consulting team in preparing documents for client presentations and meetings.
- Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc., to stay updated on industry trends and activities.
- Build relationships with clients, carriers, and internal cross-functional teams.
To be successful as a Benefits Analyst with People Corporation, you will need:
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in computer science or related disciplines.
- 1-2 years of experience in an analyst position or similar.
- Experience with dashboards such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and high accuracy.
- Ability to manage and prioritize demands to meet client and company needs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sensitivity to confidential information.
All-star candidates will have:
- Experience in group benefits.
- Knowledge of the Canadian benefits industry and group benefits financial underwriting requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
