Job description

The Waterfront Employers of British Columbia (WEBC) is seeking energetic problem-solvers with exceptional people skills and a customer focused outlook who are looking for an opportunity to build their career within the benefits and pension field. There are two permanent positions available.

The Benefits Administrator will work closely with WEBC team members in the delivery of pension and benefits services to the longshore workforce, and gain exposure to the thriving maritime industry in BC. Reporting to the Manager, Benefits Administration, the Administrator will work in a fast-paced environment to provide support and coordination to deliver timely and accurate benefits administration.

Working as a member of the Case Management Claims team at WEBC, the Benefits Administrator will support the processing of short and long-term disability claims, including adjudication, payment and customer service inquiries. This position will also learn and support the Claim Services team where needed, in the processing of Dental, Drug and Extended Health claims, including adjudication, payment and customer service inquiries.

Key Accountabilities

Working as a member of the Benefits team, the Benefits Administrator will primarily support the Case Management team in processing of leaves (short and long-term disability claims, as well as Federally-regulated leaves), including adjudication, payment and customer service enquiries. The role will also have the opportunity to learn and support the Claims Services team, where needed, in the processing of Dental, Drug and Extended Health claims, including adjudication, payment and customer service enquiries.

Requirements
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient with formula calculations both manually and in Excel
  • Previous experience in benefits administration and CEBS designation (complete or in process) is an asset
  • Full-time five (5) days per week (8 hours per day) during regular business hours
