The Integrated Forensic Program (IFP) provides mental health assessment and treatment to individuals living with serious mental illness who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. The primary focus of this position is to provide Behaviour Therapy assessment and consultation as part of our Dual Diagnosis Consultation Clinic. Additional services are provided to forensic outpatients living in the community, and on the inpatient units as needed in collaboration with behavior therapy colleague(s).

Duties :

  • Complete behavioural assessments and plan treatment strategies in conjunction with team members, under the supervision of the behavior analyst.
  • Develop, implement and document individual client treatment plans
  • Coordinate and monitor service delivery and assist in the development and delivery of training sessions for clients, staff and community partners
  • Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team
  • Provide Education to community partners about behaviour management.
  • Attend Behaviour Therapy discipline meetings and support discipline related activities.
  • Other duties may reasonably be assigned
  • Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient / client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
  • Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal's Anti-Racism, Discrimination and Harassment-Free policy.

Qualifications :

  • Diploma in Behavioural Science Technology or equivalent (e.g. undergraduate degree in psychology plus advanced certification and field placements in autism behavioural science).
  • Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge in the field of developmental disabilities, mental illness and behavioural analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a professional multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Previous experience in a Forensic setting is considered an asset.
  • Experience in facilitation of group / individual counselling and experience in staff training / education is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of consultation model.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid class G driver's license. Valid driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle.
  • English level A- in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading and writing is mandatory. Bilingual (French / English) level A- is considered an asset.

Salary Range : 36.84 to 50.24 per hour
