Job summary

Geneva Centre for Autism is seeking a Behaviour Consultant to join a multidisciplinary team. You will design ABA-based intervention plans, conduct FBAs/PFAs, and guide data-informed decisions to support children and youth with ASD and/or dual diagnoses.

The role involves training families, caregivers, and educators, collaborating with SLPs, OTs, and psychologists, and leading clinical meetings. A Master’s with BCBA/registration and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree with Certificate of Registration for a Behaviour Analyst with College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct working experience.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and monitoring ABA-based intervention programs for ASD/dual diagnoses.
  • Experience training caregivers and ABA facilitators.
  • Experience conducting assessments and developing behavior support plans.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ABA-based intervention programs for individuals with ASD and/or developmental disabilities.

  • Develop, monitor and evaluate behavior support and skill-based plans.

Behaviour Consultant
The Role:

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, the Behaviour Consultant supports children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or dual diagnoses in achieving meaningful outcomes. This role involves conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs), developing individualized skill-based treatment plans, and using data-informed decision-making to guide intervention. The Behaviour Consultant provides direct clinical services, facilitates group programs, and delivers caregiver training and coaching to equip families, caregivers, and educators with practical strategies that promote skill development, independence, and quality of life.

What your Day Looks Like:

Design and implement individualized ABA-based intervention programs for individuals diagnosed with an ASD and/or other Developmental Disabilities to include:

  • Conducting direct and indirect assessments, including Practical Functional Assessments (PFAs), to inform treatment planning
  • Developing, monitoring, and evaluating behaviour support and skill based treatment plans
  • Reviewing current research and applying evidence-based best practices
  • Designing data collection protocols and using behavioural data to guide intervention
  • Collaborating with third parties (Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists etc.) to support coordinated care
  • Meeting and obtaining regular feedback from Clinical Supervisor; reviewing client caseloads and material prep

Provide consultation to families, caregivers and/or other related parties to support the implementation of ABA-based intervention programs, including:

  • Conducting functional assessments and developing skill based treatment and behaviour support plans
  • Delivering training, coaching and consultation
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of skill based treatment and behaviour support plans
  • Leading collaborative caregiver and clinical team meetings and coordinating with multidisciplinary professionals
  • Provide coaching and training to ABA Facilitators, as required to include but not limited to:
  • Coaching on implementation of individualized ABA strategies as outlined in client skill based treatment and behaviour support plans.
  • Provide directions on the development of client specific program materials and resources

Present training, workshops and other presentations to caregivers and community agencies, when required.

Have financial accountability/target as it pertains to fee for service caseloads, where required.

Participate in meetings and collaborate with external stakeholders/partners as necessary.

What you Bring to the Role:
  • Masters' degree with Certificate of Registration for a Behaviour Analyst with College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • A minimum of 2 years direct working experience.
  • Experience assisting in the design, implementation, and monitoring of individualized ABA-based intervention programs for individuals diagnosed with ASD and/or dual diagnoses.
  • Experience training caregivers, behaviour mediators, and/or other related parties
  • Experience assisting with assessment activities related to the need for behavioural intervention.
  • Experience conducting practical functional assessments and designing skill-based treatment and behaviour support plans with families, schools and/or community programs.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and judgment skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Good communication skills; experience in presenting to large and small groups.
  • Excellent writing skills with previous experience in writing clinical reports.
  • Applied knowledge of community-based service delivery systems
  • Bilingualism an asset
  • Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work independently
  • Off-site client requirements (travel to client homes and community)
  • Outside normal working hours to meet client needs when necessary

Location:164 Merton Street, Community, Remote (where applicable)

Salary:$74,300.82-82,675.58
