Job summary

AgeCare in Canada is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Worker to join the interdisciplinary team, assisting residents with complex behaviours and mental health needs within our long-term care setting.

You will observe changes in status, report to the appropriate professionals, support development of individualized care plans, and uphold privacy and dignity while applying non-violent crisis intervention when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in a complex behavior, mental health or addictions setting.
• Diploma/degree in Community/Behaviour or rehabilitation-focused background.
• Experience in non-violent crisis intervention and behaviour management.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Certified in CPR and First Aid, and ASIST would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report on resident status/condition.
• Identify patterns and triggers through behavioural observations.
• Support development and implementation of individualized care plans.
• Maintains confidentiality for residents and staff (privacy laws).
