Job description

Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty, and convenience services in your community, keeping the customer at the center of everything you do.

Why this role is important?

This is a part-time position covering a maternity leave. It is a temporary role lasting approximately 12 to 18 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent employee at the end of the term. However, a permanent position or hours after the leave is not guaranteed.

Possible end date of the fixed term: June 1, 2026

Summary: To maximize sales of beauty products and services sold by Shoppers Drug Mart.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Achieve sales expectations and promote awareness of promotional programs.
  2. Maintain a positive attitude towards selling.
  3. Promote sales of beauty products and encourage customer participation in the PC Optimum program.

Customer Service:

  1. Create a positive environment for customers and coworkers.
  2. Always prioritize the customer and provide superior service.
  3. Model desired behaviors with eClienteling to enhance customer experience.
  4. Promote products through marketing and encourage use of the PC Optimum program.
  5. Promote and book appointments for in-store events.

Operations:

  1. Exhibit and promote company products and services.
  2. Attend vendor training and educational sessions.
  3. Adhere to Cosmetics Operating Standards.

General:

  1. Comply with health and safety regulations.
  2. Follow store policies and procedures.
  3. Implement loss prevention policies.
  4. Maintain professionalism at all times.
  5. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  1. Planning, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  2. Independent thinking and decision-making ability.
  3. Selling skills in cosmetics.

Experience:

  1. Proven consultative and selling experience with a track record of success.
  2. Good knowledge of beauty products and services.
  3. Ability to conduct consultations and demonstrate application techniques.
  4. Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  2. Ability to climb ladders.
  3. Ability to bend and stretch for stocking shelves.
