Job summary

Walter Surface Technologies Inc. is seeking a Production Clerk to operate the small format line, perform changeovers, and manage materials flow at our Montreal-area facility. The role includes receiving materials, performing inventories, and supporting quality control processes.

Bilingual French/English and WHMIS experience are valued assets. Experience with forklifts and shipping software is beneficial, and flexibility to work overtime is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a production clerk (or equivalent).
  • Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken.
  • Certification and/or experience with forklifts, especially Raymond Reach (Stand-Up), is a major asset.
  • Prior WHMIS training considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the small format line and perform Change Over.
  • Receive packaging and raw materials and place products in the right place.
  • Assist in production of large formats (20–208 L).
  • Take weekly and annual inventories.
  • Report mechanical anomalies and Near Past situations.
  • Provide purchasing with documents for material arrivals.
  • Handle work orders and order sheets for internal customers.
  • Prepare bulk batches and conduct quality control for release.
  • Maintain production areas in cleanliness and safety.
  • Palletize, pack and load pallets as instructed.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • In charge of operating the small format line as well as performing “Change Over”.
  • Receive packaging and raw materials, and place products in the right place according to procedures.
  • Assist in the production of large formats (20 liters - 208 liters).
  • Take weekly and annual inventories.
  • Report all mechanical anomalies and “Near Past” situations.
  • Provide the purchasing department with all documents required for the arrival of materials.
  • Receive work orders (WO) and order sheets (OS) for each internal customer and follow the instructions. Fill in all work order information once completed.
  • Prepare bulk batches - if required - and carry out all quality control procedures to release batches for packaging.
  • Print, complete and return to the production manager the formulation, WO, instruction sheets and analysis sheets for each bulk liquid to be produced.
  • Keep production areas clean and safe, contributing to compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Palletize cases, pack and load pallets onto trailers according to instructions
Skills required
  • Team spirit and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, ability to work independently, attention to detail and flexibility in assigning tasks.
  • Able to commit to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Must have basic computer skills; experience with shipping software (“WMS”) is an asset.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move loads of 25KG or more.
  • Must be able to work overtime if necessary.
  • Forklift operator certification is considered an asset.
  • Qualified in the handling and preparation for shipment of hazardous and noxious goods is considered an asset.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Good flexibility and ability to adapt to change.

Experience and Education:
