Our schools prioritize social-emotional learning, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to build meaningful connections with both students and colleagues.

Successful applicants will be assigned to one of our two institutions:

  • Canada Star Secondary School, an independent school in Richmond, BC, currently serves students in grades 10–12. Our educators and academic advisors personalize instruction to meet each student’s needs, emphasizing small class sizes, post-secondary planning, and open communication with parents.
  • Windsor Hall, a non-profit school, offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6–9. With a small and close-knit community, Windsor Hall provides individualized attention while fostering a global perspective through the IB curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foster a learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth through a social-emotional learning lens.
  2. Inspire students to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for future academic success, adapting instruction to meet individual abilities.
  3. Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  4. Ensure curriculum alignment with the Ministry of Education and relevant accrediting organizations.
  5. Implement differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  6. Design course outlines, unit plans, and lesson plans.
  7. Maintain accurate records as required by the Ministry, IBO, and school policies.
  8. Regularly communicate student progress through report cards, meetings, and parent-teacher conferences.
  9. Stay current with subject-specific developments and teaching methodologies through professional learning opportunities.
  10. Actively participate in faculty, department, and course team meetings to plan, review, and update curricula.
  11. Engage in co-curricular activities and supervision duties as part of the school community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education degree.
  • BC teaching certification.
  • Experience teaching English, Drama, and/or Humanities is considered a strong asset.
  • At least two years of teaching experience (preferred).
  • Experience with IB curriculum is a significant asset.
  • Passion for teaching and commitment to serving students and the community.
  • Strong curriculum development and assessment skills tailored to different age groups.
  • Proficiency in relevant technology and the ability to teach in an online environment.
  • Experience delivering educational programs electronically and using digital communication tools for student, parent, and faculty interactions.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary training (covered by the employer).
