Job summary

Boralex Inc. is seeking an electrical technician for Ontario operations to join our team. You will participate in maintenance of transmission lines, substations, and BESS units, plan corrective electrical work, and ensure on-site interventions support production optimization.

We value your ability to read electrical schematics, work safely (LOTO, JSA, permits), and collaborate with suppliers. A technical degree in electrical field and 2–3 years of experience are required; remote-friendly

Qualifications

  • Technical degree in electrical field or equivalent training.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of medium and high voltage installations.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Spirit of analysis, synthesis, tact, adaptability and rigor.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and carry out work on the transmission lines, maintenance of the substation and battery energy storage system (BESS) units.
  • Plan electrical corrective work.
  • Ensure that on-site interventions are in line with production optimization.
  • Participate in the application of health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to environmental responsibilities.
  • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA’s, Permit to Work and job specific documentation that is required to conduct maintenance and repairs in a safe manner.
  • Support and guide suppliers on site.
  • Participate in problem solving and propose and implement creative solutions.
  • Complete reports and records associated with maintenance and repairs.

You will play an important role in:

Together with the team, you will actively participate in the proper management of resources through the completion and inspection of various works. Reporting to the Site Director, your electrical expertise will allow you to ensure the performance of the installations through rigorous monitoring of fixes and their documentation.

Your role and main responsibilities will be as follows:

To succeed in this position, you need:

  • Hold a technical degree in an electrical field or any other equivalent training.
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge and experience in medium and high voltage installations.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control (asset).
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Have a good knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Demonstrate a spirit of analysis and synthesis, tact, adaptability and rigor.
