Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in a testing environment with high power electrical equipment.
  • Experience with lithium ion battery systems and charge/discharge curves.

Moment is seeking a Battery Engineer to run our product through its paces and launch design improvements from first principles test results. You will be responsible for testing second-life battery systems that will be deployed in renewable energy projects across North America!

What you'll be working on:

  • Battery module characterization and development of new test methodologies
  • Energy Storage System electrical testing and debugging
  • Developing new hardware test benches for testing battery modules
  • Working on electrical integration and PLC software for running test scripts
  • Designing and creating test plans to characterize cells or other components
  • Data analysis and performance benchmarking - developing product design recommendations
  • Supporting the development of new battery modelling and characterization
  • FMEA work and support from test results
  • Support development of new test benches (component-level, BMS HIL, system-level)

Required experience:

  • BASc. in Engineering or similar
  • Experience working on lithium ion battery systems and charge/discharge curves
  • Familiarity with battery equipment including BMS, Inverters, charge controllers
  • 3 years of experience in a testing environment working on high power electrical equipment
