Job summary

TAC Sports in Toronto is hiring a Basketball Camp Instructor to lead an engaging program for campers of all skill levels in afterschool hours. Sessions run 2:30pm–6:00pm, with 1-hour sessions from September to June, and $45 per session.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide constructive feedback and create an encouraging learning environment.
• First Aid/CPR certification and Vulnerable Sector Check preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead basketball camp sessions in a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate environment.
• Teach and develop core basketball skills, including ball handling, shooting, passing, defence, footwork, positioning, and strategy.
• Support skill development through drills, repetition, gameplay, and structured practice.
• Provide individualized feedback to help campers improve technique, confidence, and game understanding.
• Apply the 5-Star TAC Basketball Development System to track progress, motivate campers, and support goal setting.
• Adapt instruction to suit a range of ages, abilities, and skill levels.
• Supervise campers throughout activities, transitions, and breaks to ensure safety and positive behaviour.
• Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, equipment organization, and activity preparation.
• Build positive relationships with campers, families, and TAC Sports staff.
• Follow TAC Sports’ program plans, safety procedures, and child supervision standards at all times.
• Support the identification of advanced athletes who may be ready for further development opportunities within TAC programs.

TAC Sports is seeking a Basketball Camp Instructor to lead an engaging and development-focused basketball program for campers of all skill levels. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about basketball, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive, active, and supportive learning environment.

The TAC Basketball camp program is designed to introduce beginners to the fundamentals of the game while helping more experienced players refine advanced techniques. Using the 5-Star TAC Basketball Development System, instructors will guide campers through progressive skill development, goal setting, and performance improvement in a fun and structured camp setting.
