Job summary

Porter Airlines seeks a Base Engineer to support its fleet at Montréal (YHU) in a line maintenance environment. You will troubleshoot and repair aircraft structural, mechanical and hydraulic systems, install or modify systems, and perform scheduled maintenance at the Montréal airport.

The role requires the TC AME (M2) license, 2+ years’ related experience, and the ability to work shifts. You’ll coordinate with vendors, ensure safety, and assist on ramp duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 rating) required.
• 2+ years’ experience and/or DASH 8–Q400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets experience preferred.
• Experience on airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines.
• Ability to climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearances and driver’s airside license within 6 months.
• Full unrestricted driver’s license with a clean abstract.
• Completed pre-employment checks; flexible for shifts/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems and repair per specifications and manuals.
• Repair and overhaul aircraft systems.
• Install or modify engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems.
• Dismantle and reassemble airframes and engines for repair.
• Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Order and manage local inventory of parts and tooling.
