Job summary

The Wickaninnish Inn on the West Coast of Vancouver Island is seeking a Bartender to learn and grow within a Relais & Châteaux property recognized by Forbes, Michelin Key, AAA Four Diamond, and Travel & Leisure.

The successful candidate will lead and model operating standards, show energy and strong communication, and multi-task across the bar and related dining areas. A commitment to excellence and sustainability is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Serving It Right Certification.
• Experience in a fast-paced bar and fine dining or high-end restaurant setting.
• Thorough knowledge of food, wine, beer, cocktails, port, scotch and other spirits.
• Attention to detail and exceptional guest service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting Forbes, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards.
• Prepare cocktails, wine, beer and other beverages; accommodate guest requests.
• Serve guests at the bar and assist with In-Room Dining beverage prep.
• Know how to operate the Silverware POS system.
• Develop new cocktail recipes and maintain bar organization and cleanliness.
• Assist with inventory control & ordering and wine cellar organization.

Job Description

Join our Restaurant Team as a Bartender, where you have the opportunity to learn and grow in a Relais & Châteaux property recognized by Forbes, Michelin Key, AAA Four Diamond, and Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels.

As a Bartender you will:

• Ensure efficient and personalized guest service meeting Forbes, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond Standards is delivered at all times.


• Prepare a wide range of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits and other beverages and adhere to guest special requests.


• Be responsible for the service of guests seated at the bar and preparation of beverages for In-Room Dining orders.


• Have knowledge of Silverware Point of Sale system.


• Have thorough knowledge of cocktails and ability to develop new recipes around a creative cocktail program.


• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Bar.


• Be responsible for inventory control & ordering.


• Assist with Wine Cellar organization.


• Work in a team environment and assist in The Pointe Restaurant as required.


• Balance end of day financial transactions.

Salary/Wage: $18.25 per hour
