Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. Monthly surveys are sent out for staff to sign up for shifts they are available for and would like to work.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $17.75 to $18.75 plus tips.

About The Venue

The Ovintiv Events Centre is situated in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, and is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose events centre. With 4,500 permanent seats, 28 VIP luxury suites, and Co-op Mercer Hall, a 5,500 square foot banquet space, the Ovintiv Events Centre is the premier events centre in Northern British Columbia.

Responsibilities

1. Meet the company standard for excellent guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
2. Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
3. Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures and regulations.
4. Learn and suggestively upsell various beer, wine, and spirits to guests.
5. Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with standards.
6. Check guest IDs to verify minimum age requirements.
7. Communicate a cut-off time to guests as required.
8. Respond to customer requests or concerns.
9. De-escalate intoxicated guest situations; contact management or security if needed.
10. Request additional products or restock as required.
11. Handle cash accurately and maintain the issued bank.
12. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and ensure equipment is well maintained.
13. Assist with setup and breakdown of bar equipment and organization of the cooler.
