Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel is seeking a Part-time Bartender!
Reporting to the Food and Beverage Supervisor, the Bartender is responsible for serving alcoholic beverages in a safe manner and providing excellent customer service to patrons at all times.

- Excellent customer service skills are required to be displayed at all times
- Ensure safe and responsible service of all beverage products, including setting a drink rate, avoiding intoxication, and monitoring guests
- Follow and complete all cash-out procedures accurately
- Settle cash and debit/credit card payments with patrons
- Follow opening and closing bar procedures
- Ensure sufficient supplies of alcoholic beverages and related products
- Maintain proper cleaning and operation of glass washers
- Complete spillage documentation for alcoholic beverages
- Complete daily inventory and waste sheets before the end of the shift
- Possess strong knowledge of GBH standard drink recipes, menus, and buffet items
- Have complete knowledge of the system
- Conduct regular cleaning and sanitation of glassware, refrigerators, bar surfaces, equipment, and supplies
- Ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as glass washers, coffee makers, and warmers
- Comply with all alcohol-related policies, practices, and Smart Serve guidelines
- Maintain a personal cash float and complete cash-out procedures
- Communicate beverage activities during breaks and shift end
- Adhere to health and safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Maintain a safe environment and report safety issues immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Supervisor
Qualifications include:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high-volume licensed establishments
- Practical bartending experience in similar settings
- Valid Smart Serve certification
- Strong customer service background
- Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks professionally
- Ability to work independently under pressure
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Positive team relationship skills
- Effective communication skills
- Professionalism and competence
- Ability to pass criminal record and credit checks through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
