Responsibilities

Bratender

1. Creates an atmosphere that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa for gaming entertainment; responsible for building and maintaining guest relations and mentoring team members to provide superior service.
2. Provides excellent customer service, positively interacts with guests and team members, and handles difficult situations with resilience.
3. Maintains company funds and equipment properly.
4. Pours drinks following established recipes; keeps work environment clean and safe.
5. Ensures compliance with underage drinking policies.
6. Demonstrates product offerings and ordering procedures.
7. Monitors supply levels at assigned bars.
8. Communicates issues or concerns to supervisors.
9. Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank, accountable for overages and shortages.
10. Opens and closes the bar according to procedures.
11. Provides work guidance to bar attendants.
12. Attends meetings and completes follow-up tasks.
13. Performs duties reliably and predictably.
14. Handles cleaning and distribution of ashtrays.
15. Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of work and public spaces.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. Adheres to all food safety and sanitation procedures.
3. Must be Smart Serve certified.
4. Practices general safety standards.
5. Performs bending and reaching duties.
6. Lifts and transports up to 25 pounds.
7. Stands or walks for 8+ hours.
8. Maintains a well-groomed appearance and follows uniform guidelines.
9. Recycles products where possible.
10. Remains calm in a busy, fast-paced environment.
11. Organized, attentive to detail, with a sense of urgency.
12. Displays friendliness and positive attitude towards guests.
13. Upholds HRC's core values and mission statement.
14. Can stand and sit for extended periods.
15. Frequently required to lift/move 25+ pounds and work in noisy, crowded casino environment.

Knowledge of:

• Mixing a variety of drinks.
• Providing excellent customer service.
• Operation of bar equipment and tools.
• Relevant laws and regulations.

Physical Demands:

• Extended standing and sitting.
• Walking distances.
• Frequently lifting/pushing/moving up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Performed in a regulated environment with times on the casino floor where noise and crowding are common.
