Job summary

Aramark seeks two bartenders for Dal Catering at Dalhousie University to craft cocktails and serve a range of beverages at university events, receptions, and conferences. You will work in a fast-paced hospitality setting with a focus on guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have prior bartender experience, strong knowledge of drinks and trends, and the ability to obtain required certifications. Shifts vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a bartender preferred.
• Knowledge of bartending principles and recipes and current trends.
• Able to obtain all Aramark and state/local required alcohol service certifications.
• Displays phenomenal hospitality, friendliness, and comprehensive beverage knowledge.
• Demonstrates organizational & multitasking skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 25 lb.
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced fun work environment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take orders, process cash and credit card transactions.
• Mix and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• May include providing servers drinks from the service well.
• Adhere to alcohol service policies and check IDs for age verification.
• Adhere to cash handling policies.
• Set up and break down workstations, including cleaning and sanitizing.
• Take inventory counts and ensure products are stocked to appropriate levels.
• Provide excellent guest service and anticipate guest needs.
• Maintain a positive demeanor toward guests and coworkers.
• Ensure security of company assets.

Dal Catering, operated by Aramark at Dalhousie University, is looking for two enthusiastic and dependable Bartenders to join our catering team.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and providing excellent service at a variety of university events, receptions, conferences, weddings, corporate functions, and special events.

Hours will vary based on business needs, with opportunities ranging from part-time to full-time hours for the right candidates.

Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Greets guests and takes orders, processes cash and credit card transactions
• Mixes and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
• May include providing servers drinks from the service well
• Adheres to all established alcohol service policies and safe drinking guidelines including checking patrons’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption
• Adheres to cash handling policies
• Sets up and breaks down workstations, including cleaning and sanitizing
• Takes inventory counts and ensures product is stocked to appropriate levels
• Provides excellent guest service, anticipating guests' needs and ensuring guest satisfaction
• Maintains a positive demeanor towards guests, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Ensures security of company assets

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.00.
