Job summary

Aramark is hiring for part-time roles at a Starbucks location on Queen's University campus in Kingston, Canada. You will prepare drinks, assist with food, and handle transactions while delivering memorable customer experiences.

The role requires barista experience and a strong commitment to service in a fast-paced environment. Flexible hours including mornings/evenings/weekends may be required; PPE and uniform usage may apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate a register/POS and handle cash/credit transactions
• Greet and assist customers, anticipate needs
• Prepare and serve coffees, teas and beverages per standards
• Prepare and serve food items per location standards
• Balance cash drawer, complete cashier slips and deposits
• Follow cash handling policies
• Set up and break down coffee bar and store areas, clean and sanitize
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
• Stock beverages, grab-and-go items, service ware and condiments
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines
• Other duties as assigned by management

Job Responsibilities

• Accurately operate a register/POS and handle cash and credit card transactions.
• Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
• Prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages per brand standards
• Prepares and serve food items in line with location standards
• Count, organize and balance cash drawer, fill out the cashier slip and make deposits
• Adheres to Aramark’s cash handling policies and procedures
• Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
• Maintain clean and sanitary work area
• Stock beverage coolers, grab and go items, service ware and condiments
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista required or proven related experience such as coffee machine maintenance, milk steaming, latte art, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
• Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication
• Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and organization
• Strong attention to detail

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Education

Minimum 1-2 years experience

The pay range for this position is $20.55 - $20.55.
