Banff Hospitality Collective is seeking a Bar Manager to oversee bar operations and inventory in Banff. The role emphasizes safety, hospitality, and leadership within a dynamic, outdoor-inspired venue.

You will train staff, manage drinks, and ensure compliance with policies while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a full-time opportunity with growth and community impact.

Qualifications

• Passion and knowledge of mixology, ability to make traditional cocktails and new creations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for guest and team interactions.
• ProServe certification and supervisory experience are valued.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all areas of the bar and create uphold bar procedures and policies.
• Train and coach bartenders; build server product knowledge.
• Lead by example; work with the team focusing on hospitality and positivity.
• Manage inventory volumes and processing of orders, receiving, storing, and invoicing.
• Create a drinks menu aligned with the food menu; adapt seasonally and to trends.
• Ensure sanitary practices and maintain bar area cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Maintain a professional restaurant image and appearance standards.
• Demonstrate commitment to the BHC brand and team culture.

Bar Manager

The Bar Manager plays a key role in the success of Banff Hospitality Collective by managing bar operations and overseeing inventory in line with demand and cost objectives. The main responsibilities of this position include maintaining stock levels, minimizing excess carrying costs, and ensuring the bar operates smoothly, with a strong emphasis on safety, drink quality, hospitality, and effective leadership.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee and manage all areas of the bar and use your discretion to create and uphold bar procedures and policies, ensuring alignment with company standards and legislation
• Sharing your knowledge is a must! You’ll be training and coaching bartenders, and building server product knowledge
• Lead by example. Working alongside the bartenders, focusing on hospitality and positivity
• Manage inventory volumes to business levels, and ensure ordering, receiving, storing, and processing invoices are completed promptly
• Creates, trains and maintains a drinks menu that is well-suited to the food menu, that evolves seasonally and with trends, ensures a good guest experience and maximizes sales
• Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of the bar area
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/provincial /local laws, and ordinances
• Maintain professional restaurant image, including bar cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
