Job summary

Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is hiring a Banquet Supervisor to lead the banquet team and assist with restaurant and lounge supervision when needed.

The role focuses on upholding high service standards, coaching staff, and ensuring guest satisfaction while managing labour and costs. A college diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage and Smart Serve certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Smart Serve certification is required.

Salary Range: $48,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

The Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre & Spa is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our Banquet Operational team. The successful candidate must be a true service professional committed to the highest levels of guest satisfaction.

The Hilton Toronto/Markham is a full-service property seeking a vibrant and dedicated Banquet Supervisor who will also assist with restaurant & lounge supervision on occasion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implements Company's high level of standards throughout the banquet team, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues.


• Ensures all laws and regulations pertaining to the food service industry and hotel policies and procedures are adhered to.


• Successful problem solver for both guests/customers and colleagues concerns.


• Assists in recruiting, training, developing, scheduling and supervising of banquet service staff.


• Provides strong leadership through positive reinforcement, training, and coaching.


• Assists with managing labour expenses within productivity guidelines.


• Motivates employees and develops strong channels of communication by maintaining good relations and encouraging team spirit and empowerment.


• Leads a team of dedicated professionals to ensure the highest quality experience is provided to guests/customers.

Job Requirements:

• Two years previous Banquet experience in a comparable unionized hotel environment preferred


• College Diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage preferred


• Dedicated to providing excellent guest/customer service.


• Excellent communication and people skills required.


• Ability to lead and motivate employees.


• Knowledge of food, wine, spirits, and an understanding of culinary terms


• Smart Serve certification is required


• Flexible schedule (AM, PM, weekends and holidays).


• Enthusiastic customer service attitude with attention to detail.


• Strong Team player.


• Maintains integrity, dependability and accountability
