Job summary

Sun Peaks Grand Hotel in British Columbia seeks an experienced Banquet Server/Bartender to deliver exceptional banquet experiences from setup to teardown. You will follow our standards, handle food and beverage service, and maintain high guest satisfaction.

The role requires strong organization, teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on guest experience and detail.

• Previous Banquet Serving or Bartending experience preferred.
• Serving it Right Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional Banquet experience from start to finish.
• Follow Sun Peaks Grand Hotel F&B Banquet Standard of Service.
• Set up buffet with food presentation standards.
• Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and take drink orders.
• Ensure health & safety regulations are followed.
• Assist in F&B Department outlets as needed.

Job description

You take pride in your team and the results and enjoy creating unique and delightful experiences for guests celebrating important events or attending corporate meetings. This position is perfect for a dedicated individual with excellent organizational skills, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and strong interpersonal abilities, who has several years of experience in banquet settings and is prepared to lead a team to deliver remarkable experiences to our guests, both on a large and small scale.

Compensation Information: $18.25 per hour

Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Primary Responsibilities:

Service/Operations:

• Responsible for providing an exceptional Banquet experience from start to finish.
  • Follows the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Food and Beverage Banquet Standard of Service.
  • Attention to detail from set up, event execution, and tear down.
  • Assist with food and table preparation before the event begins.
  • Set up buffet with food presentation standards and practices while ensuring food safe handling is in order.
  • Food, wine and beverage knowledge.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, open wine and take drink orders from Guests.
  • Shows a passion for hospitality, service and food.
  • Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times.
  • Assists in any F&B Department Outlet as business volumes dictate.

Guest Experience:

• Deliver an elevated experience for our guests within our Food and Beverage Outlets.
  • Determine & ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Accommodates all guests and is responsible for replenishing buffet food, refilling beverages, and removing dirty dishes from the tables.
  • Brings any guest concerns to the Banquet Leadership team and or event organizers.
  • Act as an ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks with the ability to promote internal and external events.

  • Complete all tasks to help facilitate a smooth and efficient event from start to finish.
  • Clean up banquet room after the event ends and assist with inventory, food storage, and closing duty task as assigned.
  • Capable of assisting in emergency situations making prompt decisions in the best interest of the guest and the Hotel.
