Job description

The Server will provide ultimate hospitality for guests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This role will pay an hourly rate between $17.75 to $18.75 plus tips.

The Ovintiv Events Centre is situated in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, and is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose events centre. With 4,500 permanent seats, 28 VIP luxury suites, and Co-op Mercer Hall, a 5,500 square foot banquet space, the Ovintiv Events Centre is the premier events centre in Northern British Columbia.

Responsibilities:
  1. Read and understand Banquet Event Orders.
  2. Provide fine dining level food and beverage service to guests for all events consistent with OEC standards of service.
  3. Initiate and maintain friendly and professional contact with guests, ensuring all needs are anticipated and met.
  4. Setup and maintain both food and beverage stations throughout the building consistent with OEC standards of service.
  5. Maintain inventory for food and beverage stations.
  6. Keep all event areas and front of house staging areas tidy and organized.
  7. Participate in setup and cleanup of food and beverage service items.
  8. Work independently during slower times.
  9. Promote a safe and clean work environment.
  10. Engage in high levels of social contact, working closely with staff and patrons.
  11. Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  12. Be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy and completeness of work.
  13. Multitask effectively.
  14. Handle and move objects safely.
  15. Maintain a customer-focused, positive, and professional attitude.
  16. Communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  17. Apply basic arithmetic skills.
  18. Stand for extended periods.
  19. Perform physical activities such as bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching.
  20. Lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects up to 30 lbs. frequently and 15 lbs. often.
  21. Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
  22. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints appropriately.
  23. Possess a High School diploma or equivalent; experience may substitute.
  24. Preferably have at least one year of experience in events, banquets, or restaurants, but training will be provided.
  25. Must be at least nineteen years old to serve alcoholic drinks.
