Job summary

The Calgary Stampede is seeking casual-part-time Banquet & Catering Servers to join our Food and Beverage team in Calgary. You will professionally serve food and beverages across a variety of venues at Stampede Park, while upholding our Western Hospitality values and standards of service.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of serving experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year serving experience in a catering, banquet or restaurant setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with clear communication in groups and one-on-one.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Available to work early mornings, evenings and/or daytime shifts.
  • Desire to exceed guest and co-worker expectations.
  • Highly organized and reliable.
  • Must have ProServe Liquor Training certification or complete training within 21 days of hire.
  • High school or equivalent education, 18+ years of age

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team to provide professional, enthusiastic and efficient service to guests.
  • Set up and tear down buffet tables, coffee stations, service areas to standards.
  • Know menu being served and accommodate all allergies and dietary needs.
  • Serve wine and conduct cash wine sales when applicable with responsible beverage service.
  • Perform alcohol-related duties including bartending, inventory, and cash handling.
  • Resolve guest or employee concerns within authority or refer to management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front and back of house for safety.
  • Perform other duties as requested by guests or management.

Position Summary

The Banquet and Catering Servers are important members of the Food and Beverage team responsible for personally creating positive encounters with guests by delivering consistent, memorable, world-class experiences. Professionally serving food and beverage in a variety of venues throughout Stampede Park while adhering to all service standards and promoting our Western Hospitality and Values. The expectation is to go above and beyond to ensure all our guests feel especially welcome and valued.

These positions are casual-part-time positions that require successful candidates to work flexible hours throughout the week and on weekends. Shifts may start as early as 6:00a.m..

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Work within a team to provide professional, enthusiastic and efficient service, completing a quality check in your section to ensure guest satisfaction and quietly clearing all items from dining tables
  • Set up and tear down of items used on buffet tables, coffee stations, Food Fairs and service clearing stations to department standards in a timely manner
  • Knowledgeable of menu being served and ability to accommodate all special requests including allergies and dietary needs
  • Service of table wine as well as cash wine sales when applicable while providing responsible beverage service
  • Perform alcohol-related duties including bartending, inventory management, use of cash register and cash handling
  • Resolve guest or employee concerns within scope of authority, or refers to management
  • Maintain a clean and organized front and back of house ensuring guests and co-workers are safe
  • Perform other duties as requested by guests or management

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year serving experience in a catering, banquet or restaurant setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in groups and one-on-one conversations
  • A passion for consistently delivering exceptional service
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings and/or daytime shifts.
  • A desire to exceed both requested and anticipated guest and co-worker expectations
  • Must be highly organized
  • Highly responsible for their actions, reliable and able to work with limited direction
  • Must have certification in ProServe Liquor Training, or be able to complete training online within 21 days of date of hire
  • High school or equivalent education
  • 18 years of age or older
