Job summary

Tru Cooperative Bank is seeking a Director of Banking Systems Delivery & Operations to lead the planning, development, delivery and ongoing evolution of banking technology solutions. You will oversee end-to-end lifecycle of banking systems, collaborate with business and technology leaders, and guide vendors to ensure stability and performance.

The role emphasizes strategic and operational leadership, roadmap planning, and governance to support member experiences and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree IT, Computer Science, or related discipline required or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• 8+ years working in an IT technology, product leadership or system implementation leadership with experience in financial services or fintech preferred
• Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically, looking for innovation
• Brings a high-energy, “can-do” outlook to the job and can influence those around them
• Adaptability to pivot and change course with business needs
• Strong self-starter who can work in a collaborative team environment but isn’t afraid to tell it like it is
• Strong relationship building, negotiation and leadership skills, ability to persuade and lead a squad of diverse stakeholders
• Identifying innovation opportunities and implementation
• Deep understanding of industry trends and client needs, ability to create a value proposition for the client and the product vision, and apply critical thinking to effectively assess risks and opportunities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in speaking with a wide range of team members including with senior leaders
• Experience working in a complex product development environment with standard IT Project methodologies
• Overnight travel may be occasionally required, up to 6 times per year
• Displays an understanding of risk management by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.

• Translates business and IT strategies into functional plans, priorities, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
• Establishes accountabilities and ensures the team can execute effectively.
• Leads and develops a high-performing team through coaching and performance management.
• Delivers solutions following SDLC, architecture and governance requirements.
• Oversees complex implementations and integrations, resolves issues and removes barriers.
• Advises on system capabilities, risks and opportunities to leadership.
• Leads service expectations, operating models, and performance measures for internal and external providers.
• Ensures monitoring, incident and problem management, risk mitigation and reporting.
• Develops an integrated roadmap and delivery plan aligned to business strategies.
• Manages vendor relationships, contracts, and third-party risk across technology partners.
