Cygnet Kewstoke is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, help prepare meals, manage basic prep, and maintain hygiene and safety standards. The role is based at Cygnet Kewstoke with duties spanning stock checks, deliveries, and equipment handling.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering, demonstrate excellent communication, and be able to work in a team while also taking initiative to ensure a clean, organized kitchen that adheres to COSHH and hospital

• Assist in preparing balanced, appetising meals.
• Carry out basic food prep and kitchen duties.

• Handle and store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Follow COSHH regulations when using chemicals.

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Cygnet Kewstoke.

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke provides emergency admissions services for men and women, and a pathway for women to rehabilitation including a specialist service for personality disorder.

Your Day-to-Day...

Salary: £13 per hour +12.1% annualleave

• Assist the team in the providing balanced, appetising meals
• Perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties
• Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately
• Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering
• Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
