Job description

Drive the end-to-end development of new baked products, from concept to launch.

Conduct test bakes and evaluate recipes for flavour, texture, cost, and nutritional value.

Lead bakery trials, ensuring scalability, quality, and consistency.

Partner with Marketing to prepare products for tastings, campaigns, and events.

Develop engaging content to support product launches, including photos, preparation tips, and process notes.

Build strong supplier relationships to source new ingredients and stay ahead of industry trends.

Monitor consumer and nutrition insights to guide innovation strategies.

Provide recommendations on ingredient substitutions and recipe improvements.

Ensure all product documentation is clear, accurate, and up to date.

Requirements

5+ years of baking and product development experience (retail, hospitality, or food manufacturing).

Advanced baking skills with a deep understanding of ingredient science and recipe design.

Experience balancing creativity with cost-effectiveness, nutrition, and operational feasibility.

Knowledge of food science, quality standards, and nutrition principles.

Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

Red Seal Baker certification or equivalent is an asset.
