Job Description

We are hiring for a part-time Bakery Production Worker at Queen's Hospitality Services with Aramark Canada.

The Bakery Production Worker is responsible for preparing baked goods, such as pastries, pies, cookies, squares, cakes, and other bakery items. Coordinate and be responsible for the handling, preparation, production, and timely service of all large volume baking in accordance with methods and standards. We are looking for candidates with previous commercial baking experience as the postions is located in our Bakeshop in Ban Righ hall on campus and produces products for many food service locations and events on campus.

The Bakery Production Worker rotates throughout several tasks in a production environment including filling, wrapping, and packaging product while adhering to food safety and quality procedures.

Pay and Perks

  • $20.00/hr. + 4% vacation pay in every pay in lieu of paid time off
  • Competitive Shift Premium for evening and weekend shifts
  • Uniforms are provided

Job Responsibilities

  • Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bakery production or related role preferred
  • Validated knowledge of bakery production methods and standards
  • Validated Knowledge of food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, including, days, afternoons, evenings and weekendd
  • Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • Requires repetitive motion with hands and arms
  • Requires ability to stand and walk for the duration of shift.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
