Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service to members and customers.
• Prepare, wrap, stock, display, and price bakery and deli products.
• Support bakery production: measuring, mixing, baking, decorating, packaging.
• Assist deli production and chicken program with proper preparation and safety.
• Help with customer questions, deli purchases, and special orders.
• Receive, store, rotate, and track products to keep items fresh.
• Keep department and spaces clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and Co‑op procedures, including refrigeration checks.

About the Role

Riverbend Co-op invites applications for the position of Part-Time Bakery/Deli Clerk at our Outlook Food Store. This hands‑on role supports the bakery and deli team with customer service, food preparation, stocking, cleanliness, food safety, and fresh food programs, including chicken production.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide friendly, helpful service to members and customers.
• Prepare, wrap, stock, display, and price bakery and deli products.
• Support bakery production, including measuring, mixing, baking, decorating, and packaging items.
• Assist with deli production and the chicken program, following proper preparation, monitoring, packaging, and safe food handling procedures.
• Help with customer questions, deli purchases, and special orders.
• Receive, store, rotate, and track products to help keep items fresh and department standards consistent.
• Keep the department, equipment, prep areas, and customer spaces clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, health and safety, and Co‑op procedures, including refrigeration temperature checks.

• Friendly customer service skills and the ability to work well with fellow Team Members.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced food environment.
• The ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and safe work procedures.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Previous bakery, deli, food service, or retail experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
