Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  • Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  • Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  • Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  • Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
  • Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates.
  • Properly use kitchen equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
  • Label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
  • Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
  • Stay current with ads and promotions.
  • Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions.
  • Maintain inventory and temperature logs.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
  • Notify management of accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
