Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking a Bakery Associate to deliver excellent customer service and maintain the Bakery Department. You will help stock, sign, and price items, ensure food safety standards, and support daily bakery operations to display fresh products with high quality and attractive presentation.

The role focuses on accurate merchandising, temperature controls, and efficient department upkeep at the Fort Saskatchewan store. Competitive starting hourly rate applies.

• Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise: bread, cakes, pies, cookies and rolls.
• Maintains and keeps the bakery department fully stocked for business.
• Ensures merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adheres to cold chain and thermometer calibration standards, temperature recording and food handling procedures.
• Follows sanitation and cleaning procedures per Walmart guidelines.
• Handles ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, and labeling processes.
• Prepares bakery merchandise by thawing or baking per guidelines to maintain quality and appearance.
• Ensures all displays are safe and properly secured.

What you’ll do…

1. Ensures the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise; such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
2. Ensures that department is fully stocked with merchandise and is ready for business.
3. Ensures the merchandise is properly signed and priced.
4. Adheres to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates.
5. Adheres to food safety and handling procedures and following sanitation and cleaning procedures.
6. Follows proper procedures for; Ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/flagging/pricing/labels.
7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.
8. Ensures all displays are secured in a safe and proper manner.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.95.
