Job summary

Longo's is seeking a Bakery Assistant Department Manager - Full Time to support the Bakery Manager in daily operations and lead a fast-paced team in a store environment. You will contribute to product knowledge, staff training, and maintaining excellent customer service.

The role requires strong leadership, cake decorating ability, and a commitment to health and safety standards in a retail bakery setting. Availability for days, evenings, and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of bakery department experience with solid product knowledge.
• Ability to decorate cakes and pastries.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships with team members and customers.

• Motivate and mentor Team Members
• Provide support with regular team meetings
• Coach and train Team Members to maintain the highest level of productivity

• Uphold company policies and procedures including health & safety, food safety and loss prevention
• Merchandise, manage inventory and schedule to meet financial objectives

• Minimum of 1-year experience in a bakery department with a solid understanding of product knowledge
• Ability to decorate cakes and pastries

• Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new systems
• Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency

Work Environment:

• Work is performed in a store retail environment
