Journeyman baker

Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Upholds and complies with company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
• Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
• Demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with Safeway’s programs
• Fries donuts and performs oven duties (Alberta and British Columbia Only)
• Prepares a variety of bakery products according to Safeway recipes and standards
• Responsible for product presentation and maintaining bakery showcases
• Receives, rotates, and puts away product orders
• Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of bakery equipment

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
• Highly motivated, team-oriented, and able to communicate clearly
• Works safely and responsibly
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends; Sunday availability (Alberta Only)

Physical requirements include frequent lifting of up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting of 20-50 lbs, and constant standing, walking, and reaching.
