Job summary

COBS Bread in Mission, BC is seeking a Part-Time Overnight Baker. Shifts start from 1am to 3am, with training wages at $19 per hour. You will mix, proof, shape, and bake a variety of breads and pastries, and operate ovens and bakery equipment safely.

Responsibilities include portioning ingredients, keeping the station clean, and following production schedules to ensure fresh goods for morning sales. Training is provided and post-training pay reflects experience.

Qualifications

• Overnight availability and ability to start between 1am and 3am.
• Basic food-safety knowledge; Food Safe certification is an asset.
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a small team.
• Physical stamina for standing and lifting up to 22kg.

Job description

This is a Part - Time Overnight Baker Position (Work times starting from 1am to 3am)

Wages start at $19.00 an hour for training (then adjusted based on experience and skills and post-training)

Key Responsibilities

• Mix, proof shape, and bake a variety of breads and pastries according to standardized recipes.
• Operate commercial ovens, mixers, and bakery equipment safely.
• Portion and prepare ingredients following quality and food-safety standards.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment during and after shift.
• Follow production schedules to ensure fresh goods are ready for morning sales.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous commercial baking (or kitchen) experience preferred (training provided for the right candidate).
• Knowledge of safe food-handling practices. Food Safe certification (asset or willingness to obtain).
• Reliable, punctual and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work overnight independently as well as part of a small team.
• Continuous standing/walking for all tasks, frequent lifting and carrying up to 22kg. Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing.
• Have pride in your work, a great attitude and good organization skills.
