Job summary

Pragmatike is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer (backend-leaning) to own features end-to-end from a primarily backend focus with ~70% backend and 30% frontend work. The role is remote-friendly within Canada and targets engineers who enjoy deep backend work close to product delivery.

The candidate will design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines using Python and Node.js, with strong PostgreSQL and MongoDB knowledge, while contributing to frontend tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Full-Stack or Backend Engineering.
• Strong backend experience with Python and/or Node.js.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Comfortable contributing to frontend codebases when required.
• Experience or interest in scraping and data-heavy systems.
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development workflows.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work autonomously.
• Eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using Python and Node.js.
• Own APIs, business logic, and data flows backed by PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Contribute to frontend features (approx 30%) to deliver complete product experiences.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines and scraping workflows where applicable.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
