As our retail stores expand across Canada, we continue to develop talent that enriches our inclusive and diverse work culture. JD sets the global standard for retail experience by delivering the world’s most authentic brands in a premium environment, which remains a core part of our strategy.

THE ROLE

As Back of House Manager, you will oversee all activities in the BOH, including managing inbound deliveries, preparing outbound transfers, leading a team, and ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency according to company standards. This key leadership role reports to the store manager and has a dotted line to JD Canada's BOH Manager (Support Office). The ideal candidate will have a high sense of urgency, be self-driven and motivated, and possess a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of the stockroom (BOH), ensuring accurate labeling, logical placement, and maintaining order and cleanliness.
  • Manage daily e-commerce fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping orders to customers.
  • Communicate daily with customer service, support office leaders, and other stores via Slack, email, or other channels.
  • Reduce store shrinkage by investigating inventory discrepancies and resolving issues to maintain optimal inventory levels and sales.
  • Oversee store supplies, ensuring the retail store has everything needed for daily and weekly operations.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment for the team.
  • Encourage and support personal development among staff.
  • Work within company guidelines, policies, and procedures as part of the management team.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new staff members.
  • Maintain awareness of product knowledge, current and upcoming trends.

Required Skills, Experience, and Behaviors:

  • Minimum of 3 years' stockroom and/or distribution center experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience in people management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and task-oriented mindset.
  • High sense of urgency, proactive, and organized.
  • Full-time availability, including early mornings (as early as 8 am), occasional late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proven leadership in supervising, training, and developing team members.
  • Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis and decision-making.
  • High ethics, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Openness to feedback and willingness to grow.
  • Inspirational and dynamic leadership style, warm and compassionate, with a drive to exceed results and celebrate successes.
  • Passion for and knowledge of streetwear and sneaker culture.
  • Experience with G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets) is an asset.
  • Experience with Jesta POS, Shopify, and Slack is an asset.
