As our retail stores expand across Canada, we focus on developing talent that contributes to an inclusive and diverse work culture. JD aims to deliver an authentic retail experience by showcasing brands in a premium environment, which remains central to our strategy.

THE ROLE

As Back of House Manager, you will oversee all activities in the BOH, including managing inbound deliveries, preparing outbound transfers, leading a team, and maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency according to company standards. This key leadership role reports to the store manager and has a dotted line to JD Canada's BOH Manager (Support Office). • Manage daily e-commerce fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping orders.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service, support office leaders, and other stores via Slack, email, or other channels.
  • Reduce store shrinkage by investigating inventory discrepancies and resolving issues to optimize inventory levels and sales.
  • Oversee store supplies to ensure the store is equipped for daily and weekly operations.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support staff development through coaching, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain current product knowledge and stay informed about upcoming trends.

Required Skills, Experience, and Behaviors:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a people management role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and task orientation.

  • Full-time availability, including early mornings (as early as 8 am), late nights, weekends, and holidays, adaptable to business needs.
  • Proven leadership in supervising, training, and developing team members.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and financial skills.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Openness to feedback and a willingness to develop professionally.
  • Inspirational and dynamic leadership style, warm, compassionate, results-driven, and celebratory of successes.
  • Passion for streetwear and sneaker culture.
  • Experience with G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets) is a plus.
  • Experience with Jesta POS, Shopify, and Slack platforms is an asset.
