THE ROLE

As Back of House Manager, you will oversee all activities in the BOH, including managing inbound deliveries, preparing outbound transfers, leading a team, and ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency according to company standards. This key leadership role reports to the store manager and has a dotted line to the JD Canada BOH Manager (Support Office). Your ability to make quick decisions and adapt to changing business needs will be tested daily. The ideal candidate will have a high sense of urgency, be self-driven, motivated, detail-oriented, and accurate.

Duties/Responsibilities
  1. Lead daily operations of the stockroom (BOH), ensuring proper labeling, logical placement, and maintaining order and cleanliness.
  2. Manage daily e-commerce fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping orders to customers.
  3. Communicate regularly with customer service, support office leaders, and other stores via Slack, email, or other channels.
  4. Reduce store shrinkage by investigating inventory discrepancies and resolving issues to maintain optimal inventory levels and sales.
  5. Oversee store supplies, ensuring the store has what it needs for daily and weekly operations.
  6. Lead by example and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
  7. Encourage staff development and personal growth.
  8. Understand and work within company policies and procedures, including onboarding and training new staff.
  9. Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming products and trends.
Required Skills, Experience, and Behaviors
  • At least 3 years of stockroom and/or distribution center experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and task orientation.
  • High sense of urgency, proactive, and organized.
  • Full-time availability, including early mornings (as early as 8 am), late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop team members.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and financial analysis skills.
  • High ethics, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Openness to feedback and willingness to develop.
  • Inspirational and dynamic leadership style, warm and compassionate, with a drive to exceed results and celebrate successes.
  • Passion for streetwear and sneaker culture.
  • Experience with G-Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets) is an asset.
  • Experience with Jesta POS, Shopify, and Slack platforms is an asset.
