Job description

Evidence-based assessment and treatment services for clients who have sustained a variety of injuries and conditions, usually with a goal of assisting them to return to work.

  • Implement, monitor, and progress exercise and work simulation programs.
  • Manage resources, schedule clients, track attendance, ensure report timeliness, and communicate with stakeholders (insurance companies, employers, physicians, etc.) in conjunction with the team Physiotherapist.
  • Develop structured Gradual Return to Work (GRTW) plans.
  • Monitor GRTW plans to facilitate successful outcomes.
  • Work with clients referred by ICBC.
  • Provide personal training and individualized kinesiology services.
  • Mentoring and training will be provided. The Kinesiologist will work independently at times and as part of a team that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Counselors, and Administrative Staff. Our goal is to assist clients in returning to work and improving their quality of life.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and/or experience in evidence-based orthopaedic, concussion, neurological, or mental health practice with a strong emphasis on active rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of psycho-social aspects of disability.
Education
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or Human Kinetics or an equivalent degree.
Memberships & Associations
  • Registration with BCAK is required.
