Job summary

Light & Wonder’s Montreal studio seeks a Game Developer to program new interactive casino games, deliver high-quality, stable software, and meet deadlines. You will maintain, update and fix bugs in delivered products, and enhance the proprietary game engine to open new markets.

You will work with mathematicians to balance servers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to game design. Strong OOP, unit testing, and clear English communication are essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

Degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent.
Proficiency in at least one OO language (Java, C#, Python, etc).
Good understanding of OOP principles.
Experience with unit and integration testing.
Knowledge of basic database operations.
Strong written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

Design and build game servers.
Design and update new tools, features and functionalities to expand game engine possibilities or optimize performance.
Design solutions that are scalable and maintainable.
Build new tools to expand our ability to create better games.
Work with mathematicians to balance the game server to a precise statistical outcome.
Help extend the server framework.
Analyze new product requirements and provide technical insights into the work required.
Participate in code reviews and game design.
