You will lead iOS and Android development with Swift and Kotlin, while owning API design, cloud architecture, and DevOps for reliability. You’ll mentor two developers, review code, and partner with the CTO on architecture across the full stack.
The role demands autonomy, strong communication, and a proactive approach to technical risk. Remote-friendly with hybrid work options and relocation support for the right candidate.

Proxxi builds life-saving technology for the world's most dangerous jobs. Our flagship product, the Voltage wearable, protects thousands of frontline workers from electrical hazards — and recently won Best Product at the 2025 IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop. We're scaling fast, bringing new safety technologies to market across construction, manufacturing, and utilities.
Lead mobile development across iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin), setting quality and architectural standards. Own back-end infrastructure: API design, cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and reliability. Manage and grow two developers — setting clear direction, conducting code reviews, and actively mentoring. Collaborate directly with our CTO on architectural decisions across the full stack. Identify technical risk early and drive solutions that balance speed and long‑term quality. Establish and enforce engineering best practices across the team.
Front-end: React, TypeScript Internal tools: Retool, Python
7+ years of development experience, with meaningful time in mobile (iOS or Android) and back-end/cloud work. Strong hands‑on experience with Swift or Kotlin — you write production mobile code, not just oversee it. Solid back-end and DevOps chops: Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, CI/CD, containerization. Experience leading or mentoring developers — not just technically, but as a people‑grower. High autonomy, high accountability. You identify problems before they're problems. You communicate clearly and write code that others can learn from.
Bonus points: Experience with real‑time event‑driven systems (Pulsar, Pinot, or similar). Familiarity with IoT, industrial hardware, or connected device ecosystems. Data privacy, security, or GDPR experience.
