The Opportunity:
This Recreation Manager is responsible for delivering Recreation Services to all clients of the facility. This role collaborates on client care, specifically designed to meet individual needs.

What Is In It For You:

• Identify clients' needs and desires for involvement in Recreation Programming.
• Design recreational programs to meet client needs based on assessments.
• Prevent escalation of behaviors by anticipating changes and designing appropriate programs.
• Implement planned client interventions and structured opportunities to promote participation.
• Use recreation interventions to help clients achieve social, emotional, cognitive, and physical health goals.
• Ensure programming offers a therapeutic balance, including cognitive stimulation, social interaction, diversional activities, and physical activity.
• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team about clients' participation levels.
• Attend multidisciplinary Client Care Plan Reviews and discuss necessary changes.
• Achieve resident and family satisfaction targets.
• Encourage residents to participate in multiple events and activities each month.
• Lead, manage, and motivate recreation staff and volunteers to meet objectives.
• Maintain departmental budget.

What You Will Need:

• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation.
• At least three years of Recreation Therapy experience in a healthcare facility.
• Minimum two years’ experience in program planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation in a senior care setting.
• Knowledge of gerontology is an asset.
• Proficiency in Activity Pro, Point Click Care, RAI-MDS, and care planning is an asset.
• Passion for person-centered care and working with seniors.
• Valid Vulnerable Sector Search (within 6 months).
