Role Overview

The Mental Health Support Worker will be part of our new Long Term Care, Mental Health specialty program. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will support residents aged 18+ with complex mental health needs, fostering their well-being and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist to provide behavior and symptom support to residents aged 18 and older.
  • Utilize a strength-based approach to promote residents’ overall well-being, psychosocial recovery, stability, and community reintegration.
  • Support residents in developing problem-solving skills, competencies, and social integration through rapport building.
  • Contribute to a resident-centered environment.
  • Report any unsafe activities or behaviors that may cause harm to residents or others.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in Community/Mental Health, Addictions, Aboriginal Studies, or related fields.
