About the Role

The Mental Health Support Worker will be part of our new Long Term Care, Mental Health specialty program. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will support residents aged 18+ with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist to provide behaviour and symptom support to residents with mental health needs.
  • Foster residents’ well-being, psycho-social recovery, stability, and community reintegration using a strength-based approach.
  • Support residents in developing problem-solving skills, competencies, and social integration by building rapport.
  • Contribute to a resident-centered environment.
  • Report unsafe activities or behaviours that may cause harm to residents or others.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in Community/Mental Health, Addictions, Aboriginal Studies, or related fields.
