About the Role

The Mental Health Support Worker, working in our new Long Term Care, Mental Health specialty program, will collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to support residents aged 18+ with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behaviour and symptom support to mental health residents aged 18 and older, in partnership with the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist.
  • Foster residents’ well-being, psychosocial recovery, stability, and community reintegration using a strength-based approach.
  • Support residents in developing problem-solving skills, competencies, and social integration by building rapport.
  • Contribute to a resident-centered environment.
  • Report unsafe activities or behaviors that may cause harm or injury.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Certificate in Community/Mental Health, Addictions, Aboriginal Studies, or related field.
