Job summary

Kastech Software Solutions Group is seeking a hands-on Principal Azure Platform & Cloud Operations Architect in Toronto to assess and enhance production systems on Azure. You will lead AKS deployments, design secure networking, and drive IaC and GitOps practices to improve reliability.

The role requires deep Azure Kubernetes experience, strong automation, and proven incident leadership to guide teams through complex challenges. Collaboration with Engineering and Security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cloud platform engineering, DevOps/SRE, or cloud operations with production ownership.
• Strong Azure expertise, especially AKS, with production-grade Kubernetes experience.
• Deep Azure networking and secure connectivity knowledge across AKS, network, and app boundaries.
• IaC with Terraform, modules, state management, environment consistency.
• GitOps and deployment tooling: Argo CD and Helm; release strategies and controls.
• CI/CD automation: Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions; gated deployments.
• Azure observability: Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights.
• Scripting: Python and/or Bash/PowerShell for tooling.
• Strong problem-solving and communication; calm under pressure.

• Assess and improve Cloud Operations processes
• Own AKS platform architecture and operations
• Lead Azure networking architecture and troubleshooting
• Deliver IaC via Terraform with reusable modules
• Advance GitOps and deployment standardization
• Improve CI/CD and release automation
• Implement observability and operational readiness
• Provide L3/L4 escalation and incident leadership
• Coach and unblock the Cloud Operations team
• Collaborate across Engineering, SRE, Security, and Delivery
