Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Canada seeks a Data Engineer to design and optimize data solutions using Azure, PowerBI, and AI tools. You will build scalable data pipelines, ensure data accuracy, and drive BI initiatives across the organization.

You will partner with leadership to define data strategies, advance the enterprise data stack, and deliver high-performance dashboards with PowerBI. A strong SQL background and data modeling expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of proven experience in Data Architecture, with emphasis on Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent enterprise experience).
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical senior leadership.
• Deep SQL mastery with hands-on query optimization and indexing strategies.
• Data modeling experience (Kimball/Inmon) across data warehouses.
• Proficiency in Python and PowerBI (DAX and Power Query optimization).
• Familiarity with integrating machine learning models and AI tools into data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and implement scalable data processing systems in the Azure Data ecosystem.
• Partner with stakeholders to define data strategies and translate requirements into technical specs.
• Advance enterprise data stack by defining best practices for data organization and governance.
• Act as SQL authority to optimize queries and improve performance.
• Architect and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Data Lake.
• Monitor and optimize data workflows to reduce processing times and costs.
• Ensure data security measures including encryption and access controls.
• Develop data models that feed PowerBI dashboards for actionable insights.
