Job summary

A national IT consulting company is seeking an Azure Cloud Systems Engineer in Richmond, BC. This contract position requires strong expertise in automation, cloud infrastructure management, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). The successful candidate will collaborate with DevOps teams and enhance cloud environments. The role follows a hybrid model, requiring onsite presence a minimum of three days per week and offers an hourly rate ranging from $60 to $75 based on experience.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure design/support or software development, including 2+ years in cloud technologies.
• Proven ability to work with complex, integrated environments.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (PowerShell, shell scripting, Ansible).
• Strong expertise in IaC (Terraform, ARM, or BICEP).
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server and Linux, including security patching.
• Demonstrated experience designing and building Microsoft Azure solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience in Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for cloud services.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to set up and troubleshoot Azure services.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using various tools.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux servers.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure service availability.
