Job summary

Cognizant in Toronto is seeking a data analyst/engineer who will work in a hybrid model, 3-4 days in office. You will leverage Azure data services, Python and SQL to ingest, transform and model data, build data quality checks and map data lineage across source/target systems, while partnering with cross-functional teams in an agile setting.

Key responsibilities include analyzing data, documenting user stories, and prioritizing requirements with the project team.

Qualifications

• Hands-on BA experience in data analysis, data warehousing and data integration in an agile environment.
• Ability to resolve issues promptly, provide options and recommendations.
• Build data quality checks and write complex SQL queries.
• Familiar with Jira and Confluence for project tracking.
• Experience with Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, Tableau/Power BI.
• Understanding of data security classifications and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Analyse data, model and interpret results with strong analytical skills.
• Prioritize requirements and change requests with the project team and Scrum Master.
• Perform current state analysis, reverse engineering, and identify source/ downstream systems.

Job Details:

• Azure (ingestion/extraction),python, ETL, Unix, SQL,Shell scripting, pyspark, synapse, ADB, ADLS experience
• BA hands-on experience in data analysis/data warehouse/data integration through agile environment.
• Able to resolve issues in a timely manner, provide options and recommendations.
• Building data quality checks and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence.
• Experience with Data Lake/ Azure Data Factory, python, SQL Server, Tableau/ Power BI.
• Good understanding of Data Security Classifications, metadata management principles
• Strong analytical, organizational, and technical skills to analyse, model and interpret data.
• Able to prioritize requirements, change requests for Business and work with Project team/Scrum Master in determining how best to address them.
• Current state analysis through reverse engineering, identify source & downstream systems.
• Experience with requirements development involving requirements elicitation, analysis, documenting user stories.
• Capturing Data Lineage and Data Mapping between Source and Target systems.

Total compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between$80000–$115000per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications.
