You will be joining the Enterprise Risk Technology team within CIBC. As the Azure Application Developer, you are responsible for the detailed technical design and development of applications using various technology platforms. The role performs tasks of technical depth and breadth, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to conduct impact analysis and provide feedback on problems with recommended solutions. The Azure Application Developer determines methods and approaches to projects, transforming business requirements into programming instructions, designing, coding, and testing programs. Additionally, the role plays a key part in developing and implementing database management solutions, supporting the company’s backup plans. The role requires judgment and autonomy on day-to-day tasks, with considerable latitude to analyze data sources and negotiate with users regarding requirements.

Programming Skills: Develop, code, and test end-to-end applications. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems, including coding, testing, and debugging.
Systems Implementation: Participate in and conduct technical design, development, and integration of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
Troubleshooting and Technical Skills: Work closely with business and technology partners to understand and address impact issues. Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards. Provide technical guidance on application development projects.
Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with technical teams, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, ask questions, and communicate effectively, recognizing that communication includes tone, style, and structure.
Experience: 2-3 years as an Application Developer/Support and Integration Specialist, supporting internal clients. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, databases, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, GitHub, Python scripting. Experience in application support, logical thinking, troubleshooting, and managing relationships with tech and business partners.
Education: Degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or related field.
